Lodge is located on State Highway 4 at the very heart of the National
Park Village and has one of the best views of the Whakapapa
ski fields.
The
Lodge offers a true 'home from home stay' and is centrally heated
throughout the whole of the lodge, offering one of the warmest
accommodations
in the Tongariro region. Whether you are skiing in the winter or
hiking in the summer, Pukenui Lodge provides a central location
for easy access to Mount Ruapehu and the activities on offer from
the beautiful Tongariro National Park.
Pukenui Lodge
has a wide range of accommodation from en-suite rooms with interconnecting
rooms for families, to standard rooms sleeping up to 4 people with
communal facilities within the lodge.
The Lodge is
owned and run by Chris Gebbie who was the first
person in the Southern Hemisphere to exceed 230km/hr on skis. Chris
recorded a speed of 232.860km/hr on the final day of the Mondial
2005 Pro Championships at Les Arc, France. Chris has
a vast knowledge of the activities available in the National
Park, both winter and summer, and is pretty much known by everyone
in the area.
